Hebden Bridge is a quirky market town in West Yorkshire, in the foothills of the South Pennines situated on the Pennine Way. It is easily accessible by public transport and by car. The M62 is less than 10 miles away while the mainline railway that runs between Leeds and Manchester (both less than an hour away) stops here.
Hebden Bridge has a population of approximately 4,500 – many of whom work in local businesses and run the impressive array of small independent shops for which the town is justifiably famous. Plans by big business to colonise the town are vigorously opposed by residents’ groups and locals ask visitors to support the town’s independent shops and avoid using any national ‘chains’ that are trying to sneak in.

Hebden Bridge has a diverse musical and cultural scene and hosts many arts and other festivals throughout the year. The famous Trades Club hosts top-name entertainment from near and far and don’t forget the local independent Picture House – a vintage treat which boasts state-of-the-art sound and cinema in a nostalgic setting. Comprehensive local listings can be found on Hebweb.
