Location... less than 10 minutes walk from Hebden Bridge centre, 15 min from the railway station.

The hostel nestles into a wooded hillside adjoining a Grade II listed former Baptist chapel.
Local buses stop just outside and footpaths lead directly from the patio into the trees.
There are great views over Hebden Bridge to Heptonstall, Stoodley Pike and beyond.
We're close
to long-distance trails - Pennine Way, Calderdale Way and Hebden-Haworth - and just a stroll away from Hebden's river and canal, unique shops and cafes, and great music venues such as the Trade's Club.
The hostel is within walking distance
of renovated Gibson Mill:
a flagship eco project with visitor centre and cafe, powered by solar, hydro and biomass, and set in 400 acres of wooded valley at Hardcastle Crags.

Our Holidays...

The Hostel usually closes after Bonfire Weekend (w/e closest to Nov 5) and reopens for the Easter Holidays.
Whole Hostel Bookings are possible during the closed season.

Accessibility: We aim to improve accessibility and disabled facilities in the future...

  • Parking on the lower car-park is available by arrangement. From the lower car-park ramps lead to our Patio, Living Room and wheelchair-accessible toilet.
  • Our Ground Floor Double/Triple Room is directly opposite the wheelchair-accessible toilet.
  • The shower and toilet in the bedroom are not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
  • The kitchen door is narrow (57cm), therefore the kitchen may not be accessible for all.
  • Our risk assessment and evacuation plan, produced with help from the fire department, mean that anyone unable to descend stairs unaided may not book into an upstairs room, and anyone unable to evacuate from a ground floor room unaided must be accompanied by someone able to assist them.

Extra things we do...

We research, write and produce EAT OUT: Hebden Bridge Dining Guide, a pocket-sized booklet packed with cafe, pub and restaurant reviews and a town map, to help you choose where to eat.

Feast Evenings - Sometimes we cook vegetarian feasts for our guests and friends.
Everyone who wants to join in eats together in the Big Living Room.
This is a chance to get to know fellow visitors, exchange travel tales, make new friends and pick the brains of locals.
We can usually arrange feasts on request for groups of eight or more guests.

LEDfantastic - We run workshops and demonstrations in LED technology (low energy lighting) as well as providing LED bulbs, kits and installations. See for more info.

The Green Gathering - We're involved in organising this brilliant sustainable festival near Chepstow!
